The Starfish Pack Backpack Program is an important initiative in our community and we encourage our patrons to bring listed items to the theatre before our screening of Frozen Sing-Along so we make sure that all children in Kamloops are fed. Representatives from Feeding the Future will be on hand to collect your donations and to speak to their impactful activities. See more about program here.

“Feeding the Future” was created to fill the gaps for local kids in need of food in Kamloops, both over the weekends during the school year and through the summer months. This unique initiative is a partnership between the Kamloops Food Bank, United Way and School District #73 that includes the Starfish Backpack program, school snacks, summer food for various programming, and also food programs in rural communities throughout the district.
Thanks to “Feeding the Future” and a group of dedicated volunteers, 122 kids receive a backpack full of food before the start of each weekend. Throughout the 2017/2018 school year a total of 4,880 backpacks were filled and distributed to local kids in need. The program has grown exponentially from 10 pilot packs the first year that the late Christopher Seguin brought the initiative to Kamloops.
